On 10th March, a group of 10 S4 and S5 learners visited the Bellway Homes development at Dalmore Grange in Auchendinny for an insightful site visit.

During the visit, learners had the opportunity to speak with a range of Bellway staff across different roles, including apprentices, sales team members and site managers. This gave them a valuable insight into the variety of career pathways available within the construction industry.

The development itself provided a fantastic learning environment, with homes at every stage of construction - from plots being measured out, to timber frames being erected, through to completed houses with residents already living in them. Learners were also given a guided tour of the site, allowing them to see first-hand how a development progresses from start to finish.

A particular highlight of the visit was the chance to gain hands-on experience with a bricklayer, who was very impressed with the learners’ skills and enthusiasm.

Overall, the visit was a highly engaging and informative experience, helping learners make meaningful connections between their classroom learning and real-world careers in the technologies sector.
