On Tuesday 28 October 2025, Dr McMullon, Mr Robertson and Mr Stewart (Science) took 30 S3 students to the Edinburgh Science Careers Hive at the National Museum of Scotland. The event gave pupils an exciting opportunity to explore the world of STEM through hands-on activities and direct engagement with professionals.

Students enjoyed taking part in a range of interactive exhibits hosted by volunteers in the museum’s main gallery, where they were encouraged to experiment, problem-solve and discover new areas of science and technology. They also attended inspiring theatre sessions, hearing from experts who shared their real-life career experiences and the paths that led them into STEM.

The Careers Hive visit offered a valuable insight into the variety of careers available in science and related industries, helping students broaden their ambitions and consider the many possibilities ahead.
