On Wednesday 8th October, 45 very excited S2 pupils - along with a group of Seniors - traveled to The Festival Theatre to see the matinee performance of War Horse.

For many, it was their first chance to watch a live performance of a play they had studied in class, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Pupils described the production as “emotional”, “entertaining”, “thought-provoking", and “exciting”.

Favourite moments included the mischievous goose, the dramatic tank scene, and of course the incredible movement and action of the horses.

The much-loved story was beautifully re-told through music, song, exceptional puppetry, extravagant costumes, and clever stagecraft. Students were particularly amazed by how real the horses appeared on stage, and those seated at the front loved experiencing the performance up close.

Our pupils were exceptionally well-behaved throughout, demonstrating impeccable theatre etiquette.
 

Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable experience for all involved.
